The top 6 is good, that's pretty set in stone. The bottom six is where I have some concerns. I really like the third line, but thornton and spezza on the same with all due respect to both of them is a too slow. Thornton in between a tough player like simmonds and a fast, speedy annoying player like kerfoot would be good for jumbo.replace engvall with barabanov, I think he's being pretty overlooked and could pontentially be a third line option. As for the defence, like the top 6, the top pair is pretty set in stone, second pair is good, the third pair isn't doing it for me. Dermott is said to be playing the right this season, and bogosian some games could be a scratch, but I actually feel he could be a good fit with a guy like muzzin as a big tough pair, or with dermott as you got dermott the annoying smaller guy, and bogo the bigger guy as a presence. Lehtonen will be getting games. 100%. This guy is a stud and will at least be playing on the third pair. He can play on the right sometimes with muzzin as you'd have a balance of a defensive defenceman in muzzin, and an offensive defenceman in lehtonen. There's so many combos you can make with this team, and that's a good problem, you need depth and different guys that can step up.

This is a much deeper leafs team than we have seen in recent years. Think this is partly due to covid. Think barabanov will be on the starting roster as well. Will add some speed and tenacity to the bottom 6. Never gives up on the puck. Smaller version of Hyman.
