Go add up any teams top 4 players contracts and come back to me with any teams that are within 10M of Toronto’s. But I guess Toronto just has a surplus of talent more than any other team. Not bad contracts.lol.

You want to know the teams that are close? 2 teams within 10M. Most of them are 12-20M difference b/ween their top 4 players and Toronto’s top 4. Not too mention top 4 forwards, top D and starting goalie.

TB. Has 2 Forwards, Kucherov(9.5M), Stamkos(8.5M), a D-man; Hedman (7.8M) and their goalie Vasilevskiy(9.5M). That’s still 4.7M less. And TB is in Salary cap hell right now. Over the cap and don’t even have a 20 person roster. And top
4 players are still 4.7M less than Toronto’s. You don’t think your gonna run into a problem?

Washington capitals have Ovi(9.5M), J.Carlson(8M), Backstrom(9.2M), Kutnetsov(7.8M). That’s 5.5M less still and not 4 forwards. U want to add their 4 forwards, 1 D, and their starting goalie? That would be 41.7M compared to Toronto’s top 4 forwards, top D, and starting goalie at 51.6M. That’s a 10M difference.


And those are the two closest teams. Every other team is 8M-20M less for 4 players. Add in Muzzin and F.Andersen and u have 39.4M left to sign 9 more forwards, 6 more d-men, and 1 more goalie.

You’re lucky Spezza and Thornton signed to a league min. deals. And u have two Russian players that have never played a NHL game on cheap contracts in your starting roster. On a contending team. 2 players that never played an NHL game. Good luck man. Problems are coming. You are paying 4 players 10M more than any NHL team. Just wait, till when u have to pay young players or the leafs are gonna have to dump more players like A.Johnsson for Joey Anderson.

Every other NHL team 10 Million plus less than Toronto. Again, not 2M, Not 4M, Not 6M...F-ing 10M. 4 players @ 2.5M a year difference plus.
