This isn't targeted at you specifically, but "True #1C" has to be the stupidest ****ing saying hockey fans use. Why not just say elite center? That's what is usually meant. By definition there are 31 (soon to be 32) #1 centers, but Monahan is probably in the 15-25 range, firmly in the #1C range, but somehow he's not a "true" one?

As for the Lines, call it a hunch, but I think Bennett ends up on the 4th line (or traded) by mid-season after being outplayed by Ryan and Leivo ends up in the 2nd line.

A true 1c can play both ways put up points and drive his line. I’m a flames fan but like most honest flames fans would love to move Mony+ for a real 1c. Backstrom and lindholm are also both good 2C’s but they don’t have anyone to lead this team down the middle.

Mony in the 15-25 range is laughable. He is firmly in the 2C range. I have a bigger pet peeve with the word elite, like that actually means something and isn’t opinion based.

See and your definition is not true, because McDavid is a true #1C and he's terrible defensively. The meaning bounces all over the place to fit the narrative of whomever is using it at the time they are using it. And claiming Monahan isn't 15-25 is the the only thing that is laughable. You are one of the plethora of Flames fans that are clearly too blind to see what we have ion Monahan. The way he gets underrated because he isn't flashy is appalling.

But Monahan is a mid-range #1C, he's not elite, but he's there, just look at the numbers the last half decade, Monahan is arguably the most underrated C in the NHL because of the way clueless fans like you are always dreaming of something more and sleeping on what we have.

When a center is 12th in goals, 17th in points, and 24th in PPG (min. 100 games) among Cs over the last half decade, claiming he's not a top 31 center is a horse**** opinion and flat out wrong.

So my opinion is horse**** because you like how many points Mony gets lol. It’s a basic way of looking at the position. I’m sure kane can put up 120 points playing centre but I would rather have Toews there.

Production over a 5 year period is a pretty fair way of determining 1st line players as their primary job is offense. Bottom line, anyone claiming he's a #2C is a clueless moron.
