I would say Terrible! Not one of those "Defencemen" are going to stand anyone up at the blue line or impose their will in front of their own net. They are "defensive" but only by forward standards.

Why is Kucherov one of your choices for a defenseman..? Also the team probably wouldn’t do all that great. None of the forwards can win a faceoff and most of them don’t have the hands/shot you’d want a forward to have. It might do okay just because there’s so much talent on the roster but not because anyone actually played their new position well (possible exception Burns).

Kucherov was chosen for this team because:

- his skating is more agility based than acceleration

- his puck control and passing are phenomenal

- his elite positioning and ability to read the play

- he's so smart and nuanced and clever, it's insane

- he uses his physicality tactfully, not chaotically

He'd be like a Kris Letang type D in terms of style

You took this way too seriously and it's pretty silly and honestly kinda annoying, seems pretty clear this is about as fun and light a post as ever will be here

Did you just cryogenically unfreeze from the 90s? "Standing people up at the blue line" disappeared like 10 years ago and "imposing net front will" is a small element at best. As for the zone entry prevention gap control... oh my god it'd be unreal, half the 'D' here are awesome skaters who read the play exquisitely. Good luck entering the zone with possession against Toews and Stone for instance. Or sustaining it if you did. They'd close forwards down with ease and maybe strip the puck away, while thoroughly preventing spatial breakdowns. Defense has never been primarily about physicality. Even in the clutch & grab era. Skating, awareness, tact the cornerstones among others. Hedman, Pietrangelo, Josi, Karlsson, etc. The modern prototypes.

Fun or not you asked how this team would do. And my answer even if it is from the 90s still stands. You're all worked up because 2 people told you it wouldn't work? Sounds like you weren't being light and fun you wanted people to agree with you that it would be awesome or would work. It just wouldn't.
