Description

Massive deal for both teams. If you want to break down the deal it's basically;

Maatta for Trouba
Helle/Stafford for Fleury

The Jets get their wish for a top pairing quality young LHD on a great contract, plus upgrade their goaltending for the next 3 years or until Comrie is ready.

The Pens get a nice R/L balance on D, and Trouba should bring more to the table offensively than Maatta. Hellebuyck and Stafford are both nice pieces that can contribute to another Cup run as well, and they don't have to worry about Fleury's NMC for the expansion draft.

Just... terrible.

Maatta does not = Trouba. It's not even close. So many PIT fans keep proposing this. Trouba is elite, Maatta is now slowed by his injuries, he's a good 2nd pairing guy at best.

Hellabuyk is considered one of the best goalie prospects in the game, he'll probably be better than Fluery.
