Really? These are 3 pretty high-end assets in my opinion. A 2017 8th overall pick, 2019 31st overall pick, and a 2021 second? You could also add Mattias Samuelsson (2018 32nd overall) to this instead of Ryan Johnson since he is farther along in his development, but he probably has a lower ceiling.

Their draft positions have no weight in this, they have under performed, or are very slowly developing. At this point they are your average prospect.

Based on the Devon Toews trade that just happened, what would Dunn's value be compared to him? Can't be that far off...

I mean Dunn has almost double the amount of games played, same point pace as Toews but has a Stanley Cup and played very important minutes for them, but that being said I don't know a whole heck of a lot about Toews. I think you have to discount the return to the isles because of their large cap issues, their return on Toews would be less than st Louis return on Dunn because NY has a larger cap problem so if they are moving someone below elite status the return won't be high in this flat cap. I think a first round pick and a B defense prospect or a lower tier roster player would be good for Dunn I just don't think struggling prospects is what they are looking for.

That's fair. I still think the Sabres could/should swing that and it would be a good deal for both sides now that you have Krug. Also, Johnson and Samuelsson aren't struggling prospects, they are just very young but have high draft pedigree.
