These are all massive overpayment by Toronto.

1. Dermott=Bennet. Dermott had more points last year then Bennet and he will definitely come at a cheaper cap hit.

2. Savard is not the guy we need anymore imo. Bogosian and Muzzin are the tough big bodies now and Brodie provides a much better defensive factor. Savard is also on the last year of his deal and coming off a down year by his standards so his value is low, even with retention.

3. I wouldn't do SDA for that straight up. The leafs have no use for Crouse, he is probably worth Holl straight up at most, and he would be making over 1.5 mill to play on the 4th line. It just makes no sense at all

Calgary would also decline this deal. Bennett is worth more to the team than a 4th liner, a LHD that would be 4th best on the team by the end of the season, and a 2nd

Flames would much rather try Bennett at 3C and see if it wprks linger term. If it doesnt they always have Ryan to play 3C who is a defensive god in the bottom 6.
