There's nothing too surprising about what we did this offseason. The Schultz contract seems too high at first glance, but there's clearly something Laviolette likes about his game. If he plays the way he did during the 2017 run, we've got great value here. If he plays like he did last season, we're in trouble. Hopefully getting him away from Jack Johnson helps him a lot and he'll regain his form.

Samsonov, Lundqvist and Vanecek all have to be on their games, as I think the plan is for them all to get starts. I think we know what to expect more or less from our offense with the hope that Kuznetsov improves defensively, so this whole season is reliant on our defense and goaltending. We're a playoff team no doubt, and we've got the potential to go on a deep run. I pray that Laviolette can get the best out of this group and having Lundqvist will motivate us and push us forward.
