Idk the difference in value if any but this trade clears up cap space to at least sign cirelli and Sanderson can replace sergachev/cernak on d. And it only means tb will have to shed one big contract of killorn, tj etc to sign the guys previously mentioned. And Ottawa gets a good player as they are in win now mode in this hypothetical.

his overall game wouldnt have been worth his contract he wanted from the sens or that he wouldve gotten in arbitration. One of the biggest defensive liabilities in the league

That's not the full story, Duclair refused any offer the sens made, including a "substantial raise".
