The only reason he was a 7th rounder was because he had Mono in his draft year and Noone knew. It's been wildly talked about that he was an absolute steal in the 7th round. Hes a legit top 6 guy that plays a 200 ft game and can play in all situations. If the cap goes up the way it was supposed I'd be thrilled to be able to keep him but can't afford him unless Leafs trade Marner.

He is also coming off of knee surgery and the only game he has played he was awful. But that is to be expected after knee surgery. I have no idea why Toronto played him in that final game. They did and that is going going to make most teams to pass on him until he gets back to form. He has one 20 goal season and a $3.4M cap hit I too much for a player that had 8 goals and 21 points. Now without COVID-19 and the knee injury he would have about 11 goals and 30 points. I really don't think you will get that type of return until he has another 20 goal season.
