I'm a big advocate for bringing bsck Mcdonagh, but a couple of things Tampa won't retain money they need salary and u would probably need to send more.

From a Tampa fan's perspective:
I'm okay losing McDonagh now, but would prefer to hold him for at least another year since Sergachev's defensive game is not on par with McDonagh's yet. Assuming we re-sign Sergy, we're going to have 25% of cap tied up in 3 LDs and that won't work long-term, so who knows what happens. I disagree on the value, I think it's a yes from Tampa if that's the offer and McDonagh is willing to waive NTC, but Tampa retaining salary is pretty much out of the equation.

He would waive his ntc to come back to ny.
