what the HELL is jim benning doing???????? oliver ekman-larsson is just a 2nd pair defenseman at this point with a horrific contract. thankfully he only seems to have approved 2 teams for a trade (BOS, VAN) with his full nmc, so there SHOULD be a decent amount of leverage here making cap retention possible

this is the only type of deal i would consider for OEL, but its an enormous risk and could cripple our cup window because if it goes wrong the contract is an anchor... this could be disastrous and no chance arizona could do anything like this because nhl gms are stupid and either benning or sweeney is gonna overpay
