good trades. I think the Domi trade is one for one.

They need to shake-up the roster though. If they don't move up in the draft to draft a winger like Holtz then they need to move Domi or Danault. Plan C would be moving Caulfield.

Lineup simple isnt close to competitive forget whats fair. They need to shake it up. A lot of trades people dont deem fair, improve their teams enough ie Bolts with Coleman/Goodrow

Thanks, I added the 2nd since Rakell will be cost controlled over the next 2 years vs. domi who is looking for a new deal. But I definitely wouldn't be opposed to a 1 for 1.

They don't need a shake-up they need to add goal scoring. They won't move up in the draft because realistically 95% of players outside the top 5 don't play in the NHL in the season they get drafted.

I disagree with your comment about the lineup not being competitive, the top 6 is decent and has better good scoring abilities than the group now. The issue with the Lightning comparison is that they have a talented top 6, there bottom 6 wasn't gritty enough so they addressed that issue. They also had the cap/picks to be able to do so, owning 2 first rounds pick and trading both of them away for coleman and goodrow to make sure they got what they needed. The Habs are the oppose with a good bottom 6 but missing some goal scoring and size in the top 6.

Thank you for your feedback tho it is appreciated!

Forget the Lightning comparison. It has nothing to do with the Lightning. It was an anecdote for what they perceived through the eyes of a CBJ sweep. They overpaid for need. Maybe I was being less than fair saying they wont be competitive but this is a team that has missed the playoffs in 4 of the last 5 years and finished 24th overall this past season.
They absolutely need a shakeup. They are small! Very. Not only getting to the post season will be difficult but you need players to get you through the playoffs as well. Guys like Tatar are regular season performers and nothing more.
Moving up in the draft isn't just for this season, they have a lot of young talent coming up, they need to find size on the Wings. Holtz would be perfect I feel. Whether he comes in this year or next, that would be a dream

Tbh I don't disagree, I thought that domi, tatar, byron all had disappointing playoff performances. I think they have realized that they are too small, and even if they are hard workers, they will get out muscled in the post season with all the midgets they have. Adding rakell and smith does add scoring and size, both are physical guys. If they can move all three of domi, tatar, byron and bring in bigger guys that would be a bonus. There are also a good amount of big skilled wingers that will be able around 16 if they keep the pick so I don't think they need to move up.

I'll be terribly disappointed if they dont move up. They have 22 picks the next 2 years. Drafted top 3 rounds 9 times in last 2 years. They only got 50 contracts to hand out. They cant handle all these picks. Bundle it up and try to trade up. Florida, Nashville and Winnipeg seem like they could trade down depending how the draft shakes up

Theyll move some picks cause yeah they definitely don't need them all but I think they move them for warm bodies thatll be able to slide into the lineup next year. Or package them to get a superstar *hopefully*

Vegas is in cap hell, I doubt youll get a first and a prospect for any team for him. The max I'd give up is 2 2nds. If its a 1st (16th in this case I'm assuming) and an nhl ready prospect I'd be targeting Tuch not Smith.

I'd be curious to see if Smith can even produce outside Vegas he struggled mostly in Florida, Dallas and Boston. 29 years old. Florida actually traded Marche if you remember whom had a greta contract so that vegas would take Smith (awful move by Tallon, of course) Good history in the playoffs but largely inconsistent

Exactly why I wouldn't pay a 1st for Smith, 1st round picks (in the off season) go for players who are consistent in season and playoffs. The TDL 1st round picks are given away like candy XD

Aren't you guys up again the cap tho? Also wouldn't you lose one in the expansion draft?

Yeah Vegas would be nuts to move Tuch. I cant stand seeing those trade proposals. Bennett and Tuch continually get mentioned like they are some kind of secret talent. Everyone knows now
