Ok that's not actually too bad, but I don't see jackets giving up either of werenskii/Jones unless a surefire number one c is coming back.

It’s not that bad I’d say it’s more unlikely oilers accept johnsson without money going back to leafs.

Yea cuz the CBJ is the only highly unlikely trade.

I love that Carolina and other teams are just farm teams looking to give away stuff to Toronto

Cool but it aint. Farming other teams since 67 has been a long road to till with no fruit to bear.

I like how all the blockbuster leaf signings or deals all rely on 2-4 teams taking on their bottom tier players to free up cap room.

Nobody needs Dermott or Holl, nor would they likely be willing to pay a 3rd rounder for a bottom pairing defenseman.

Werenski for Rielly doesn't help either team, same cap and term, though weresnki is still an RFA whereas Rielly is a UFA.
I think Toronto is overpaying because Nylander and a 1st > Korpisalo, Anderson the RFA vs. UFA issue of the defenseman.

But i just can't see Columbus being better after this deal.

Dermott has the potential to be a top 4 dman and Andreas Johnsson is a middle 6 fwd that can put up 30-50 points and probably even more if he plays with mcdavid. Winnipeg Dcore is AHL level and Holl would be a cheap upgrade for them. And the Columbus trade was just for fun to see what people would say.

Demortt is definitely not a top 4, he's maybe a bottom 4 if that's what you meant, no way he develops into a 1-2.

that isn't much of an argument for any team wanting Holl.... and for roughly the same salary, why doesn't Winnipeg just sign Gudas instead of trading a pick for Holl?
