2 things no way hoffman signs for that cheap it would be nice but I just dont see it. And the chassion deal has been circulating but I think we would have to give up alittle more like a draft pick in 2021 or a low level prospect to get it done

The Eastern conference teams are all desperate for big 3rd line players who can play rough and score a bit too. Bjork doesnt have much chance to get on the top two lines and he’s purely an offensive player.

A few sources say nobody will give him what he got this year and he might just take a one year contract and try to land a longer contract next year.

Bjork was a " pure offensive player " when he was drafted and when he made his NHL debut. Part of why he got sent down in the past two seasons ('17-18 & '18-19) so he works on his all-around game otherwise you can't play in Boston. This year, he was a great defensively and unfortunately, didn't had much to offer offensively. Still think he can get +30 pts and become a good two-way middle-six guy so I wouldn't trade him. But he isn't only an offensive player anymore



If he does get moved to Edmonton, better for him to have a role with offensive players imo.

It’s probably more likely for Edmonton to trade for and put bjork with Mcdavid than signing Hoffman in all honesty.

Little bit about Chiasson: decent defensively on even strength. Not that good at even strength offense. Was a god on the powerplay with an insane xPPO (idk how much of that is being carried by McDavid and Drai, but he was the best PP player in the NHL this season). His usual spot on the PP is right in front of the goalie.

It was him he was big and tough enough to stand right in front of the net and take the punishment keeping the goalie off balance and his stick on the ice threatening the shot so the D had to watch him letting mcdavid drai and nudge to make their passes.

But who knows, Chiasson is obviously more proven. Just be surprised b’s would sign Bjork to a three year extension and trade him for a guy with one year to UFA

Chiasson has spent some time bouncing from team to team. If you want to sign him for his current contract when he becomes a UFA he will sign.
