Makes no sense - trade a proven scorer who likes Montreal for a prima Dona with attitude who hasn’t proven that he can even play in the NHL. Not a cap room dump either as habs have plenty of cap room. Throw in Evan Bouchard and even then it is iffy

A player who is at max value now with a sure decline in his career to come at some point soon. Also clears room for resigning Gallagher Kk and more next year. Vs a player who is at his minimum value and hasn’t even come closed to his potential in the nhl that could excel with a guy like KK with a ton of prime years ahead of him. That’s a chance I would take in a heartbeat

Also it relieves our left side to keep Domi and strengthens our right side that’s in need.
That’s the base of the trade. There could be pieces added either way to make it right but I think it should be done
