Description
Unpopular opinion, but with the way the top 2 lines have played together I'm not sure I'd make any additions after JGP. I'd rather give open spots to guys like Bellows and Wahlstrom next year and let them be the offensive influx this team needs.

Also, Why do people think Barzal is getting 7m+ on a bridge deal? He's a phenomenal player and I love the kid, but Point just signed a 3yr 6.75m bridge and much better overall. I can see Barzy coming in at about 5m per on a 3yr bridge and 8-9m on a 7-8 year deal.

Toews - Will probably get a similar bridge deal that Pulock got (2x2). Don't see him getting more than Pulock did on a bridge.

Pulock - For both Toews and Barzal I'd do bridge deals allowing them to sign bigger deals once money comes off the books 2-3 years down the line. Pulock would be the guy I try and lock up long term this offseason (8x6-6.5m).

Bailey and Eberle AREN'T being traded - Ebs just signed his extension and Bailey is a leader on this team and a Trotz/Lou favorite.

Bad Contracts - I would try to move out one of the bad contracts this year (Boychuk) and then work out a deal with Seattle for the other (Ladd).

Leddy - He is still a valuable top 4 LHD - Why people are saying the Isles need to add top line sweeteners to move him is beyond me. Leddy should be able to be moved for a 2nd (at least), one/two prospects or 2 3rd round picks... anything less then those returns and I'd keep him.

Komarov - probably the only contract that can be bought out. If a trade can't be found, buy him out or keep him as a 13/14th FW... He should NOT see regular playing time unless injury.

That trade wouldn't happen this offseason, it would take place at the expansion draft

Are we still calling Dal Colle a prospect?

Boychuck will need a lot more than that to move. He has two years at $6m under flat cap. Assuming his 8-team list is made up of mostly cap-squeezed teams....so a buyout is most likely.

Buyout of Boychuk doesn't help the Isles at all. The CAP hit would be almost the same as his AAV... trading him is the only way to free up CAP space. Boychuk can still play, as he proved this past season, he's just overpriced. Salary retention can be added or the player/pick can be upgraded as needed. He would be a good veteran D for a team with a young core... my point is, I don't think ti's going to take as much as some people think to move him out.
