So MTL gets Trouba and a first, Dallas gets Petry, and wpg gets Honka and Redmond....... I think this is pretty lopsided in our favor

Dallas needs to win now. They literally have no one except for Klingberg on RD. you can fleece them. It's a late 1st pick n e way, Honka is top notch prospect. Winnipeg is not losing the trade it's a sideways move. I don't think they can win the Trouba trade. Sideways is better than losing. We lost the PK trade.

Good points, but the problem with Honka is he's a RHD, I don't think WPG moves Trouba unless they get a LHD whose NHL ready, after all Trouba wants out because theres no room for him on the right side

This is hilarious from the Star's standpoint. We have Klingberg and Johns on the right side, both solid top 4. We aren't giving up our top prospect for ******* Petry, especially with a first. This trade is laughable.

sorry buddy I'm not quite convinced by Johns yet. But windows only last for a certain while till they start closing. If Spezza goes down for a lengthy period of time (which has happened so often with him) stars are in deep ****

Doesn't mean you can just fleece them tbh, they arn't at the level Edmonton is.

There is no way you get both those and Nill isn't one to be fleeced often. For Honka and a first, we could get Trouba or someone of that caliber. And Johns was arguably our best defenseman in the playoffs. He is solid, maybe not a top guy, but definitely solid on the 2nd line.

My god Architect. Your thought process is that a team who wants to win now will give you an over payment just to get a player who fits slightly the bill they are looking for? Not to mention that they are paying more for Petry than they are for Trouba?

Ok there Kim..... excellent analysis once again!

Lolol! C'mon dude teams overpay on trade deadlines all the time. Dallas has to pay Petry, not Trouba. Anyone around here was a GM and they had to pick either Johns or Petry as the final and missing peace to a cup, and you went with Johns (do not take caphit as a factor), you need to check yourself. I'm not trying to say that an established top 4 RD is the final link, but like I've mentioned before in other posts I think Dallas' goalies are not the real problem.

He definelty can get Trouba for those 2 assets. But will he? Petry might be slightly over payed and he had his injuries last year, but he's a solid and true 2nd pairing D man.
