Yes, I know there are some risky moves in my AGM concept, but here it goes!
Kuznetsov for Brodin and a 1st may favour Wild as Kuznetsov has terms in his contract while Brodin is an UFA after the 20/21 season, so this requires an extension to not be a horrific deal. Wild gets a No 1 center, and some off-ice guidance for Kiril Kaprizov. Brodin is a good shot-blocking defensemen and as Wild has two round 1 picks, one of them can be made to good use. Also, it probably makes Caps younger in a few years.
Dubnyk gives some net experience for Caps and allowing Vanecek to be eased into the back-up role, even though I know Vanecek's one-way contract kicks in right now. Dubnyk had a bad year, but I'm willing to take a gamble on a bounce-back for him. If he doesn't, it's only a 1 year deal. Louie Belpedio will give Hershey an upgrade on RHD, at least based on 19/20 points. Wild also have Addison and Menell ahead of him on the right-hand side anyway.
Kempny gives Wild an experienced top-six defensemen, while keeping organizational depth at a status quo. I assume Wild will promote Kahkonen, so Copley is a solid option for their AHL affilate in Iowa.
Hagelin or Panik? I feel that Panik has more offensive upside than Hagelin, that's why I kept Panik over the Swede.
UFA signings are tough, because the market may force teams to overpay players. Not sure the specified numbers are enough to get either Toffoli, Edmundson or Haula.
A final note. Yes, it's risky to bank on McMichael to carry a top-six role right now, but I still like taking the chance. If he needs time on the wing, Haula can step in at center. At least he's decent on the dot, despite being injury-prone. It's a one year quickfix, but hopefully someone of Sprong, Pinho or another Bears player can make the transition from Hershey to the 21/22 season.
