Care to elaborate? This is my first time playing with that type of Vegas trade.
I paid a lot for Ekblad, I am aware. (Only way to get him)
I have played around with a lot of Bennett trades, but never involving these firsts.

You'd have to remove the retention for Calgary to consider

I love Bennet but kerfoot>Bennet and you move up in the draft. Kerfoot does not get the respect he deserves. He also plays with a physical edge. He may not get the big hits that Bennet does but he is tenacious.

He is underrated and better but losing Bennett's grit and almost doubling (it might be doubling, not sure of Kerfoot's contract) his cap space would be a hard pill to swallow.

With the retention it would be near double. But that is only for one season. Kerfoot would have two more after next year. Like I said kerfoot can bring physicality... actually made a few brutal hits like the one on domi I didn’t like.

He is known For his speed... which he does rip. But his shot is totally underrated. He has a cannon of a one timer and his wrister is fast and accurate.

I know he's good. I do really like his game but keep in mind Calgary has a cap crunch too.

Not really. I like where Calgary’s cap is. 2 rfa’s to sign (I don’t count jankowski.). One should be 1m or less and I would give the bread man 2.5m- 4m depending on term. That leaves 13m to fill 6 spots. In the bottom 6 and one top 4rhd. I see some wiggle room there.

It isn't quite as bad as the Leafs but if they want to make improvements they will need some space. I agree with you on Mangiapane and Kyl's salary (and ignoring jankowski as a whole). They may be able to fit in the Bennett retention but they are way better off without it.

I agree, but you don’t move up in the draft for nothing. I mean 1m retained (which this is all moot since flames management will not retain on any player) has got to be the cheapest draft jump I have ever heard of... and you get the better player?

My personal trade that I would like to see (that doesn’t involve players that won’t be moved )

Is Andersen kerfoot for rittich Bennet. Leafs get cap space flames upgrade 3c and goaltending. Add some speed and make a 3rd line of mangiapane-kerfoot-dube that is hard to match speed. Flames also get a C to replace jankowski on the pk.

Flames would then need to sign 1 RHW, I pick leivo. He and Johnny would light it up. Leivo is a great shooter. 1 Rhd... I would look into Demelo, Cernak possibly Hamonic if he wanted to return cheap. And a backup.

Yea I saw you post that trade. I do like it. Makes sense for both teams. If I were the Flames I'd try make an effort to keep Bennett though. If an offer than makes your team better like that one comes along you'd have to seriously consider it. I wouldn't be mad if a trade like that happened and I wouldn't be surprised.

I don't know much about Leivo. Personally I'd target Josh Anderson. As for the RHD I'd try to get Anthony DeAngelo out of New York. What would the price tag be DeAngelo in a trade? I have no idea because he's always traded as an added piece in blockbusters.

Anderson is a gamble. Do you sign him for 1 year and he walks ufa or multi year and regret it. Leivo is a solid player and has a nice goal scoring touch. Best of all he is probably cheaper than Anderson and doesn’t cost assets.
