"Maybe if I say lol at the end of every post it'll make this guy on the internet who I've never met and never will meet in real life feel stupid for having the audacity to disagree with me over a hockey player" He plays like a 3rd liner does he? Pretty sure Rust plays like a 3rd liner too and had worse production than Kapanen before this year. Does he suck too? "We literally just paid for another Rust" I really like Bryan Rust I don't know about you. It seems to me that he plays the way Sullivan and JR want the rest of the team to play so why not trade for a guy whose like him? Maybe since Rust played really well last year, and Kapanen apparently plays exactly like Rust according to you, then maybe Kapanen will have a good year as well. Doesn't that sound reasonable?
Literally only said lol at the end of what? 3 of like 10 posts on here? But yeah, that’s everyone 😂. Rust wildly overachieved. I highly doubt he keeps that up. This isn’t a rebuilding team so they shouldn’t trade like a rebuilding team. A rebuilder would trade for a young player in hopes they could reach that next level. A win now team should trade for a player based on what that player has done. Not what they hope he can do for their team. That’s nonsense. If players are traded based on what the team hopes they can do, then why doesn’t Ottawa trade is a top 5 pick for Murray? He’s a two time cup winner who is about to hit his prime and imagine the level he could get to not playing behind the pylon clusterf***s that are Jack Johnson And Justin Schultz.

He had 25 points the year before. Kapanen would've had 40 points in a full season and kills penalties, and is physical, and has a good contract, and is an RFA when that good contract expires. Also top 5 organizational prospect on one of the worst farm systems in the league means he might not even play in the NHL
Would have had 40 points in a full season. Those are amazing top 6 numbers 😂. And great he kills penalties, we have Blueger, Rust, Tanev, ZAR, Simon, and Zucker that does that too. How many penalty killing forwards do we need? It wasn’t our PK that was abysmal, it was the power play. There is no way you can convince rational people that know the pens need was a top 6 RW that can play the left wall on the top PP that getting a 3rd liner, penalty killing, 40 point forward for a top 15 pick in a deep draft and a top 5 organization prospect (btw the prospect pool sucks based on lack of prospects, the top 5 are still really good and Hallander had a 2nd line LW ceiling.) was a good trade.
