Description

Focus on building around a new core with more drive and heart than the current core.

Not sure if NJD trade is realistic, both sides can add some supplementary pieces but the aim is to target young players with good ceilings and can both play and grind.

Saved some leeway in the cap to account for lower revenues by ownership during the pandemic

Robin Lehner might be unrealistic but Calgary has a good Swedish contingent and a stellar training staff which would appeal to him

Devils don’t do Gaudreau straight up for that pick let alone at Bratt. And Merkley
Also Jankowski currently would probably be number 5-6 on the depth charts in NJ behind Hughes Nico Zajac zacha and maybe even McLeod.
If jersey is trading with Calgary a defenseman is comin back to NJ.

Good points, what about Kylington instead of Janko? Also didnt realize that pick was the #7 OA. You dont think NJ would want Johnny for Bratt + Merkely + a mid 1st rounder?

Ok didnt know they valued Bratt and Merkeley that highly. Essentially they're both middle 6 players currently no?

Playoff performances matter. Imo no players have hurt their value more in the bubble than Hall and Gaidreau. With the cap being flat and teams being ultra conservative, I think it might be wishful thinking to expect a bountiful exchange for Gaudreau.
