Obviously Kesler and Dubinsky stay on LTIR. Their NMC's wont really be enforced if they're not playing. Toronto doesn't see Nylander go to a competitor and CBJ gets a reasonable package for Savard.

And people can stop talking about shut down RD for a while.

True enough, but if we are taking that much dead contract back, I would expect picks or prospects too. I mean 2 years at almost 7 mill for Kesler and a year of almost 6 for Dubinsky is a hell of a lot of squish to take on. It's funny I must be the only Leaf fan that really likes Dermott.

I really like it though.

You're taking the LTIR to help your cap space. The incentive is already for Toronto.

True enough but we're also helping 2 teams save a lot of actual money.

But they can live with the contracts staying. The only team needing here is Toronto. No one is gonna bribe for that. They would pull back the LTIRs before giving picks and that doesn't suit Toronto.

You may be right but I guess it depends on the team's financial situation and nobody did well financially this year
No additional income for Anaheim and that is a lot of dead money to pay out. Who knows, but I would certainly ask.

Sure but I'm not posting picks that teams would ask about. This is where I think the deal would settle at and I know nobody cares if the Leafs spend extra money. Including the Leafs, I'm happy with the deal posted.

Ana might bring the prospect down from Comtois to someone lower if they think CBJ is getting too much for Savard but that's the most I think wavers in this deal.

Also I still hate Nylander trades because it doesn't fix the cap issue but 500 billion in LTIR is a start.

This trade doesn't make Anaheim better as it takes a big bite out of their back end.
Personally I think Toronto has to add at least another pc to make it a go for Anaheim despite taking on the LTIR contract of Kesler.
Add Liljegren and it looks like a much better deal - NO ONE IS DOING THE LEAFS ANY FAVOURS!!

I can't imagine the team getting Nylander for 2 years of a decent defensemen is the one getting a bad deal here. I don't think it's even close to doing Toronto a favor from Ana's side.
