Roll 3 lines of F, 4 pairs of D. Put Spezza in when players need a breather, to relieve Robertson a bit as a rookie, and to come in if there are injuries
Oh I get it but unfortunately these 3 are paid to more than Good to Great NHL Forwards
it doesn't matter- (a) I'm glad we have high paid players because it means we finally have star players, (b) Just wait a year or two when bridge deals and elc deals expire and you'll see plenty more deals in their price range (c) Just because they are superstars doesn't mean you want to exhaust them all regular season- kawhi was a star player, they rested him nicely for the playoffs and look how that turned out. Not saying they should be sitting out games like he did, but you don't want to overwork them because they'll get tired towards the end of the season and into the playoffs. McDavid is played to be more than "Good to Great NHL forwards", doesn't mean its smart to have him play 26 minutes every night because (d) You expose them to a higher risk of injury playing tired and too much
It can literally be considered a new season the break will be around 140 days the average off season is 110 days - my concern for the Leafs is Freddie he's a slow starter I can absolutely see Campbell getting the starter job for this tournament
I think Fred will at least get game 1 unless he sucks in camp. If he absolutely sh*ts the bed in the first game then maybe they give Campbell a start
