Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Description

Not necessarily the trade or the signings but the idea of acquiring a player for LTIR purposes. Something along what Toronto did last year, where they used/acquired players on LTIR to get the quasi cap needed to field their team. I'm sure Tampa would love to move McDonagh but that may be hard. Tampa will be able to sign their main pieces and still have a fantastic team. Yzerman's familiarity with TB and it's players will allow him to get what he wants.
Another team TB could target is Anaheim for Kesler as he would have an extra year of LTIR that Tampa could use.

That is true, but since Zetterberg isn't playing anymore he will be on LTIR for the whole year from day one. so effectively a team can go over the cap by the amount of salary on LTIR. it doens't give the team actual cap space just allows the team to replace that player up to his cap hit. The closer to that players cap hit a team is the better. That's what Toronto, Arizona and numerous other teams did last year.

I still don’t think you are quite understanding. This does absolutely nothing to give them any wiggle room. Infact since salary is no longer accrued daily it actually gets worse come deadline.

Toronto was already in Ltir. They picked up the clarkson contract in case negotiations with marner ran long in order to get the ltir relief they needed to sign him.

If the cap is 81.5m and you spend 82m you are over by 500k. If you add a player to ltir and you now spend 88m you are still over by 500k.

It’s simple, the leafs without marner would no longer be able to get ltir relief. The clarkson contract would allow them to keep him on ir and assemble a team that would qualify for max relief. When marner is signed clarkson goes on ltir.

Yes tbl would want the LTIR space to exceed cap$ & retain couple of their RFA....but wings have 0 interest the offer here...now u get serious & offer RedWings 1st rd pick unprotected in 2022 & either killorn or top prospect too then deal to be made..

Zero.... ltir is not cap space. The player on ltir still have there full cap hit counted so the amount exceeded with relief is negated.

You want a loophole? Go out and play a game with 19 player and no healthy scratches. Now that opens up a massive loophole.
