He isn't currently a #1, but anyone with foresight should be able to see that he'll become one. Thats my opinion anyway
I agree, Sergachev over the last two months of the season before the pause was averaging over 23 minutes a night, drawing defensive zone starts over 60 percent of time, playing over a minute or more on the PK and actually replaced Hedman on the top PP even before Heddy's injury (granted they were shaking things up as the PP stunk). During a 3-4 game stretch when McDonagh and Hedman were both out he was the Lightning's best defender and player during that time. I don't think a lot of people realize how good he is since he is over shadowed on the Lightning team. He is on the cusp and well on his way as far as being consistent top pair defenseman.
The Lightning have prioritized Sergachev and Cirelli and both have said they want to stay in Tampa so I don't see them signing offer sheets, they will make other moves before losing one of Serg and Cirelli as a last resort. Sergachev is real close with Vasilevskiy and Kucherov who both signed bridge deals so I can see him doing the same with a deal similar to McAvoy at around 3 years 4.7-5.0M per year.
I also think Yzerman would not offer sheet his old team and buddy Julien BriseBois. I can see them work a straight up trade for a number of different Lightning players though.
