This was the Price for him a the deadline and it should not change this summer. A Top 3 Dman capable of playing 25 min is easily worth a 1st and a good prospect. If it comes with an extension agreement, its not even enough. Petry is 32 but his playing style and skating abilites will make him useful until at least 36.

Niku is at best a #4 defenseman. Samberg is a good prospect but he isnt the next bigthing either. The first will probably be out of the top 15.

Terrible trade for the habs with the Petry. Gourde has a no trade clause.

Well then in that case, I don't think the Jets are interested. No doubt Petry is a top pairing dman, but that's steep for one year of a guy.
And if that was the Habs' asking price, I think then that's a strong reason why he was never dealt.

I don't see why Edmonton has to retain on Koskinen.
