Kreider has been in the league 9 years. He has been incredibly consistent. The league knows who and what he is. His trade value has been pretty much the same for years. The only thing that affects it at this point is health and supply and demand.

Very true. Sellers market this year. Though that could change if a couple teams suddenly become sellers, like Florida for example. Or Ducks put more players on the market, etc etc. if Hoffman, Dadonov, Rakell suddenly are on the market the supply suddenly is deep and it becomes a buyers market.

just read a few comments.. i think a player who is known to put up a pace of 25+ goals and 50+ points, that is on a long hotstreak of 32 points in 30 games, is worth more than a player known for the same thing but hasn't done much as of late.

Florida is currently in a playoff spot and plays just two more games before the deadline-- they are also riding a two game win streak-- don't see them being sellers ATM
I don't see the ducks shipping out too much more. I don't see them trading Rackell, Getzlaf isn't going anywhere and Silfverberg was just signed to a long term deal. Only player i could see is Henrique but I don't think he would have a big enough impact on the kreider market due to how long and how much his contract is for

I don’t think Fla should be sellers either, but lots of talk of them becoming one. Ducks have said only 2 players available, but after seeing what players have gone for they could change their mind, doubt it but possible, so could others.

As far as hot streaks go, GMs don’t take that much stock in them, not anywhere near as much as fans do. It would be different if he was 23/24 it would be thought of as a breakout. Kreider was/is the top player available. Had/has been all along, his value has not increased due to play any more then it would have decreased if he was pointless in his last 7.

idk-- if i were a GM i would want a player that is playing with confidence and would place slightly higher value on that-- i think maybe what is happening (like you said) is that kreiders value is already greater because he IS the top person available so the fact that he's hot/cold doesn't really matter as much.
