As a sens fan, if neither Tierney or DuClair are resigned by the deadline, I approve of this trade. Yes yes i understand they're RFA's not UFA's, but I still approve...getting younger and adding another 1st helps with the rebuild. Personally I don't see Tierney or DuClair as a future piece when we're winning games again...

I dont see it with Tierney (C logjam), but I could 100% see it with Duke.

Honestly though both those players were toss ins from the Karlsson and Duchene trades. If you can flip both those guys for that return Ottawa should definitely do it. Glory for Ottawa is likely still 2+ seasons away so they should aim to get younger.

what? this is a horrendous trade for OTT, a 3rd liner (jost) who never scored 15 goals 2 26+ year old spare part soon to be UFAs and a late 1st for a 20 goal scorer and good 3C both RFA.

OTT would pass easy

Jost is 21 years old. Younger than Logan Brown. It's crazy how quickly people will call a 21 year old 10th overall pick a bust. Same dealw ith Puljujarvi-they were rushed into the NHL. We know the value of developing prospects. Jost could be assigned to Belleville for the playoffs.

I'd EASILY trade Tierney straight up for Jost, and also easily trade Duclair for a 2020 1st+Rosen+Nieto.

rosen and nieto are trash and will be UFAs not worth duclair, a rebuilding team not trade knows for un-knows, OTT knows what they have in Tierny and Duclair, Jost has done nothing of note in the NHL. BOTH tierny and duclair are RFA thus young enough to be part of OTT when they are ready to compete.
