Description
Jets have great goaltending prospects but Vezina quality keepers getting shoved out due to cap constraints don't come along too often. Jets can always flip Comrie or Hellebuyck for additional assets.

You know your team best but I disagree with that theory of signing a big UFA in net. I'd rather take a change to have Hellebuyck get lot of action this year and determine if he the goalie of the future for the Jets.
Even the Leafs paid just 5m for guy with one more year with RFA status.

This is becoming a theme on here. WPG trading for a goalie...

You have two high end goalie prospects which are not far away and align with your core. Stop it please.

Funny this site... you post a team with Hellebuyck and Hutchinson in net and the comments come back consistently that the Jets can't rely on unproven goaltending. You post a roster with a proven goaltender added and the comments question the lack of faith in the current prospect pool. Can't win for trying. I for one, don't believe that the Jets need to trade for a proven goaltender. Hellebuyck and Comrie have the pedigree to be successful in the NHL. Even if only one lives up to their billing, the Jets should be fine.

Hi True North. Glad we agree. I know it tough to do now with salary cap and free agency, but if a team can develop their own goalie and have him as anchor in net for ten NHL seasons, it gives his teammates some security.
Glad to see the Jets signed Scheifele long term, and maybe Hellebuyck will be deserving of a long term contract next summer. If not there may be other options than trading for someone this year.

It really doesn't make any sense to trade for a goalie this year as Hellebuyck would likely be scooped up by Vegas if they did.

I agree if you are going to go after a goalie like Bishop you might as well trade Hellebuyck at least then you got something for him before he is the heir apparent in Vagas

You're not getting Bishop that cheap, He was asking for 7 years $49 million from Calgary he surely isn't signing in Winnipeg for that amount.

FYI no way would Bishop agree to a 4 year deal unless you want to pay him $10 million to $11 million per. And Pavelac is garbage and Petan no thanks Tampa can do far better then this.
