Rentals have value, too. I'd rather keep the roster in tact for the playoff run instead of getting mid-round picks and squandering the depth of our current roster and Charlotte's depth. The time to introduce young players like Kaski or Bean onto the team is next year. If you deal Eddy or Haula, it should be either for immediate help back or for making room for said immediate help.

I agree with what you are saying, completely. I don't know if I could stomach having a Kaski or Bean in the line-up down the stretch, even if they are both showing out in CLT. Brodin is a clear upgrade to Eddy and kicks the can down the road so to speak until Bean can step up and be a constant on the LD. DeMelo is an upgrade to TVR on the right as well, although having to plug in a guy from Charlotte is not ideal. Especially if Hamilton is not back in time for the playoffs, though in this exercise the assumption is that he will be. The Haula move is a tough one. He has been productive on the PP and looks great between Necas and Dzingel, but with a cheaper Wallmark pushing to be a 3C, we could potentially trade him and get another cheap center with potential for years to come. I would hate to see Mcginn go too, as he is a key PK specialist, but I would love to see Lorentz get rewarded as the 13th forward. Clearly none of this will even happen but it is a fun exercise.
