I mean I know NJ doesn't need another Center. Moving Hughes to wing is more plausible than trading the #2 overall. But for fun... who and what would a package look like if they did shop the pick????

Oh i have no idea, what do they need, wings to go with hischer and hughes? Maybe its more they take a player or pick to swap 2nd overall for like 5 overall.

I would think they go for a defenseman, I just don't know if a d man is worth 2nd overall (literally do not know, nothing against the top d kids)

Isn't there also a chance lafreniere doesn't go first? Isn't the proj. #2 also filthy?

I agree they need a Dman as priority. Top 2 projected at the moment is Laf then Byfield

Drysdale is around 6-7th, Some have him as high as 4th. If they could get Byfield they should, move 86 to wing (if stamkos can be moved there so can hughes)
Byfield is a big strong kid, alot of what we dont have.

Yeah but Stamkos is a vet and Hughes is a child, plus I'd rather keep him in the middle where he has more space than pinned to a wing where his size is a real disadvantage

Lots of cut n paste here-
Here is what Steve K says: https://www.thedraftanalyst.com/2020-nhl-draft/2020-draft-profile-rhd-jamie-drysdale/

    https: //www.thedraftanalyst.com/rankings/2020-draft-preliminary-rankings-and-watch-list-2/
The Defense is Right: This draft may not rival 2018 in terms of elite defense prospects, but it’ll come pretty close. It’s doubtful that we’ll see a defender get picked in the top five, simply because of how exceptional the forward prospects are. Nonetheless, the Canadians are at it again, this time flooding the 2020 crop with almost a half-dozen blueliners with the potential to be top-pairing mainstays at the NHL level. At the top, few will debate the quality of play and upside revealed by Jamie Drysdale of the OHL’s Erie Otters. He’s a fantastic puck rusher with an excellent shot, and his decision making is advanced for a teenager who loves to attack as often as possible. The battle for best two-way defenseman has begun, and it looks like Justin Barron of the QMJHL’s Halifax Mooseheads and Western Canadian Braden Schneider have the edge for the last two standing. Hockey Canada entrusted them with critical roles at the WJSS, and they rewarded head coach Dale Hunter with not only physical play, but confident end-to-end rushes as well. Another thing to consider — all three are the always-desired right-shot defensemen.

Sporting News had him at 10-10. Jamie Drysdale, D, Erie (OHL)
The top right-handed defense prospect for the 2020 draft, Drysdale is an explosive skater with very good awareness and timing. Although a first glance reveals an incredibly gifted puck rusher and playmaker with a lethal shot, Drysdale’s game is more complete and cerebral on his side of the red line than most offensive defensemen recently drafted into the NHL.

    More:
    Jamie Drysdale's Player Profile
Sam Cosentino - Sportsnet - Dec. 4th: "There are no holes in his game and his ability to defend doesn’t take a back seat to the offensive production (30 points in 27 games this season)."

Will Scouch - Scouching.ca - Nov. 19th: "Drysdale is the best available defender in this draft, hands down and to me it isn't close. He does things Bowen Byram didn't that I think makes him a more projectable two-way player, but he's every bit as capable of being as dangerous as Byram offensively."

Larry Fisher - The Hockey Writers - Nov. 19th: "His offensive upside has been evident for years, but Drysdale’s ability to shut down the opposition’s top forwards this season has been equally impressive. He seems to relish those matchups — much like Drew Doughty — and Drysdale could also push for the top five, perhaps even the top three with a strong showing at the World Juniors, assuming he makes the cut for Canada as an underager."

Ryan Kennedy - The Hockey News - Nov. 10th: "Drysdale is as good as they get. Great skater. Can play a lot of minutes."

Tony Ferrari -Wings Nation - Nov. 4th: "Drysdale has the potential to quarterback a top power-play unit at the next level, thanks to his high-end hockey sense and elite puck skills on the blue-line. He is able to transition the puck from defense to offense with possession and is able to do so with good pace to his game."

Scott Wheeler -The Athletic - Nov. 4th: "He moves exceedingly well in all four directions, he’s crafty with the puck, he defends the rush well by playing a tight gap (something he’ll always have to do considering his length) and when there isn’t space to attack or separation to create with his feet then he’ll execute a three-zone stretch pass."

Chris Peters -ESPN - Oct. 22nd: "The defenseman moves around the ice fluidly, thanks to quality edge work. He can pick apart the opposition with creative and crisp passes. But defensively, there's plenty to work on, as he can get caught up ice."

Corey Pronman -The Athletic - Oct. 15th: "His skating allows him to impact the game in so many ways through the rush, creating breakouts and walking the blue line. He’s a very crisp passer who handles pucks well."

Sam Cosentino -Sportsnet - Oct. 2nd: "Canada’s ‘C’ at the Hlinka-Gretzky is smooth as silk and uses great skating ability to drive the play from the back end."

Bob McKenzie -TSN - Sept. 16th: "Drysdale is a marvellous skater. He’s not just fast but also agile and his edge work is outstanding. He can easily skate the puck up the ice – scouts marvel at how hard it is to forecheck against Drysdale – or he’s adept at making passes to get the offence started."

Craig Button -TSN - Sept. 16th: "Skating is his calling card and he uses it in every zone. Defensively to beat pressure, neutral zone to join the rush and offensive zone to press the attack. Plays with a daring confidence."

Cam Robinson - Dobber Prospects - Sept. 2nd: "A fluid, puck-possessing rearguard who plays with terrific pace. Has his head up at all times, and can bomb outlets the length of a football field. Uses his brain to get a jump on bigger opponents."
