Ottawa most definitely says no. This is how I think of it Max Pacioretty when he was traded Montreal in return got a consistent 25 goal scorer in Tomas Tatar, Nick Suzuki an A prospect at the time and a 2nd rounder. Pageau is getting dealt for sure but Duclair is untouchable, Connor brown maybe.

Pacioretty was a proven goal scorer. Duclair is not. That's a pretty unjust comparison. Tatar was a dump if I remember correctly, as his time in Vegas was borderline forgettable. Montreal fluked into Tatar returning to form.

Jones is NHL ready. Puljujarvi has an NHLe of a middle six winger right now. That's a pretty handsome package going back to Ottawa, and I think the value is pretty much there.

I just don't seeOttawa doing this at all, you might not see it but I think Duclair will thrive in Ottawa.

I wouldn't have traded for him if I didn't think he'd thrive in Edmonton.
