The reason we over hype him is because he has great potential. We just don’t think his chemistry is right on our team. He’s not a top liner but he could be a solid 2 liner or 3rd liner AND he’s young.

He's absolutely overhyped by ANA fans, just like Manson is. The problem with Kase is that when he's on he's super dynamic and can score on his own. The problem is that he's inconsistent and CONSTANTLY injured. I guess the fear is that he ends up going to a contender and blowing up. He's only just entering his prime years and could be an extremely fruitful 2nd line winger, even if he misses 20 games a season due to injury.

In terms of us rejecting the offers on here, most have been pretty terrible or include some of our coveted prospects i.e. Steel, Terry, Comtois. Kase is absolutely moveable, but not for some 1 season wonder or ageing players. I will assume that your proposal of Braun for Kase is just to have this conversation. If not and its a serious offer, then you've only gone and demonstrated why we are rejecting the offers on here. A 32 year old D-man well past his prime does nothing for a team that is mid-rebuild and likely won't be a contender for the next 2-3 seasons.

I agree Kase can be good, or will be good but His numbers are pretty below average. Granted on mostly bad teams but they are what they are, bad. He can still have a breakout year and build on it from there but that’s not guaranteed.

All the trade proposals are picked at random. Braun in his prime for Kase might have made some sense but Braun now isn’t worth much. Brauns numbers in SJ were inflated by the expert defense of Vlasic. Kase is worth more than Braun but I personally wouldn’t give more than a 2nd round pick and a B prospect for Kase. I see him as a Kevin Labanc lite.

I think a 2nd + B prospect is fair value for Kase. I just don't think it makes sense to move him for that. Most proposed deals for Kase fall into the same category. Is it fair value? Yeah, probably. Is it worth doing? Nah, definitely not. Like I said, Kase is moveable, but the deal has to make sense. For me personally, I'd consider moving him for a young D-man with high upside that is struggling to put it all together i.e. another Guhle type. I don't think much else makes sense.

Yep totally agree on that. The ducks should totally move him though, he doesn’t fit into the current structure of the Ducks. Labancs value has actually dropped this season so i would actually call them about even now. Id move Labanc for a young 1B starting goalie. Or Labanc and a 4th or something for a Georgiev type. I could see Kase fetching a Gustafsson type dman out of Chicago.

I don't think Labanc is that bad. SJ sucks as much as we do and so he's going to have a low +/- and lower scoring totals. I was thinking Kase could be moved for someone a little younger than Gustafsson. A project D-man who hasn't been quite able to crack the NHL line-up at his respective team, but that clearly has potential and could be solid if he can put it all together. Again, someone like Guhle or when we moved Theodore.
