On the outside looking in, yes. But until we get a goalie, we are never going to be able to improve. Our defense is horrible, and we give up a lot of shots per night, but if you look at the advanced stats, we aren't giving up a large amount more of HIGH QUALITY scoring chances per game than a lot of other teams. So basically when teams with good goalies would get a save, we do not.

That may be true but it is entirely irrelevant. You may have 5 players on your roster worth keeping and they'll be on the back nine once this organization turns it around. Bottom out first and worry about a goalie when you've got some players.

Georgiev is young though. It could be worth it

In 4 years I would expect us to be in the playoffs. Larkin is 28, Mantha and Bertuzzi are 30, Hronek is 25, Zadina is 24, Seider is 22, plus whatever other prospects develop/we get till then. Georgiev would be 28 as well. I think its fine. And again, we cant even take the next step until we get a goalie. They are probably one of the most important pieces in a rebuild. It allows the young players to be able to make mistakes and not have it cost us every time like having Howard in goal does.

Detroit wont though, We'll probably get the #4 overall pick and draft Askarov instead.

We're not dealing AA for a Goalie we don't need, If we get the #4 overall pick we can just draft Askarov instead.

He may get you wins that you don't need and cost you draft positions in the process.
