That does not get you close to Nylander. AA has had a regression this season. Best bet is to wait it out and see if he can regain his game and then decide then what to do from there.

Nylander is not exactly ripping it up either. Nylander has 23pts in 34 games. AA has 16 in 30. Don't forget Detroit has also scored 34 fewer goals. The big stat is AA is -33 which would win any golf tournament he entered.

Besides what you have stated, I was thinking Toronto really needs some cap relief, and they want a young cost-controlled offensive defenseman. By getting AA, it gives them a dynamic scoring wing that should re-sign at a reasonable cap hit. Adding Cholowski in the deal, they get the young defenseman that has the potential of a top 4 D-man and the ability to QB a power play.

Detroit gets the elite Center they cover to shore up the position now, as well as years to come.
