I'm certainly not a fan of McCabe, but we could find a better deal for him, he may be a solid #5 in another team, but he plays in the first pair with us and it looks bad, also paired with Risto, they just don’t must play together.

jankowski's a good possession player to play on that line with 22 and 28. Vesey would kill that line. Toffoli's shooting below his career average this season and once he starts getting some luck he'll hit 20 goals in his sleep. I'm interested why you'd be against trading Borgen considering how many D we have on the current roster and in the system. Don't see him getting any NHL time this year and will likely be passed on the depth charts once Johnson, Samuelsson and Laaksonen come to NHL/AHL. Use Borgen as a trade chip for scoring right now while he still has some value

I would like to leave Lazar in the lineup, he has the very grit and energy that our team lacks, so I see no reason to trade for Jankowski and put him on this line. That is, of course, we can trade it for him, but maybe he will play on the other line as the center, I don’t know, although his statistics look awful this season, and I know that his uncle works as the main scout in Buffalo.

My problem is not Toffoli, but the fact that we will give Borgen. I think he could well be a very good defender of the third pair with grit and physicality, perhaps with some progress, even be a good defender of the second pair. Samuelsson and Johnson LHD, Borgen RHD. Bogosian UFA, Risto is constantly on the trading block, Miller looked bad in Buffalo, maybe he will improve, I don’t know, just if there was an opportunity to give some other prospect for Toffoli, not Borgen, then ok.

Calgary doesn't want or need McCabe. We pass on that trade.
