The Islanders will lose De Haan to expansion as they will likely protect Boychuk, Leddy, and Hamonic. They won't have a problem protecting another forward. And Tavares, Ladd, and Ryan together would make for a deadly line.

The senators are a budget team and can't afford to have so much salary locked up into one player. By getting Tatar, they can afford to lose Ryan. De Haan is a local (carp) boy who could would be a cost controlled top 4 guy. Clutterbuck is a decent bottom six guy that helps balance out the salary difference.

I agree. I think that the value in the trades is completely fair and well thought out. The only thing that may not work is that NYI may not be able/want to take on B. Ryan's salary.

And Hoffman at 5.25m? Do you think he will get that? I'm not convinced. I think he'll be in the high 3's or 4's
