Team elects to go with Almari or Riikola next year. Signs TVR to play 3RD. There is a lot of defense heading to the market next year. After the big bucks are spent there will be reasonable contracts for a player like TVR. The penguins jump on it.

After a down year in Buffalo, penguins sign Vesey to play with Malkin. Big fast physical, he fits right in.
These contracts might be a little off, but I don't think they are that far off.

A higher level winger would be nice, but I don't see the cap space for it without moving Hornqvist. That will be at the expansion draft at the end of the season.

If the team thinks a player like Legera or Hallander can step in next year, I doubt they sign Vesey. But I'm not sure they will.
They will save cap for signing Marino. This is a team that will be better on the back end next year show some increased speed.
