9.5x3 got rejected by Shanny apparently

Thought it was 10 x 3 he shot down?
Either way, this is around the number it ends up being if they go short term imo.

10x3 was wanted by Ferris. 9.5x3 was shut down by Shanny and it will likely be around 9x3, maybe slightly below on short term deal.

Hope so.....it's a game of chicken right now and hopefully the Marner camp cracks first.
Anything south of 9.5 is a good deal for us imo

Anything above 8 on 3yr deal is overpayment but necessary one. I would expect it to be around 9x3 or 10x6

Sure Marner want the comparisons of the 11.643m X 5 Matthews contract. Don't blame him. Leafs want the Aho 8.45m X 5 comparison. Don't blame them. Hence this impasse.
9.5m X 3 seems too high. Game of chicken? There is whole hen house of RFAs So it's not like Marner is unique this summer. Of course if Marner truly thinks the Leafs offers are so poor, he can sign with any team.

3 year Marner deal will end up looking like this:

3y/$23.25M ($7.75 AAV)

Year 1: Salary-$700,000, Signing Bonus-$6,300,000
Year 2: Salary-$700,000, Signing Bonus-$3,550,000
Year 3: Salary: $12,000,000

Leafs will be forced to qualify MM at over $12M per year on his next deal. This is the way MM guarantees himself a monster new deal after this bridge.
