I'm not entirely sure what "under price sale" means.....but it's literally a 1st or 2nd Round Pick, a former 5th overall pick with size and skill (albeit who hasn't accomplished anything yet), and additional cap space.....FOR 1 YEAR of Hoffman?

Yes but we’re assuming Hoffman has the potential to resign like anybody right, and I wouldn’t used JP draft number as his value anymore. And I just feel Florida would rather a cup run than this return as Gagner yes slots in to the roster but they’d rather get a cup chance I’d think

Okay, just so I understand.....Florida has a chance to win the cup this season with 10 forwards signed and $2.4MM in cap space. The Panthers also just signed a 30-year goalie to a $10MM/year contract who has never played more than 65 games (which is a lot for a goalie, but you don't win every game you play) in a season while also having him backed up by a guy with 11 games of NHL experience and a 3.05 GAA.

I really like the top end players in Florida on forward and defense, but if anything I think it would be more hard-pressed to get Edmonton to approve this deal than Florida. The Panthers jump at the chance to add a 2020 1st Round draft pick and a potential high-end, cost controlled prospect EVERY time in this deal.

Just my thoughts....

I would say JP doesn’t have the value as his potential tho I understand what you’re saying, but EDM would
kill for Hoffman right let’s think about it, a stud offence minded guy with great O zone prowess and shot, to be paired with mcdavid or RNH. You can run Drai Mcdavid - RNH Hoffman, and powerplay Hoffman Mcdavid Draisaitl RNH Klefbom; Lmfao that’s like actually a joke to me, because it looks so unfair. I would say maybe JP + Bear/ maybe a forward prospect (not Yamamoto obviously) instead of bear + Gagner (maybe idk I’ll keep in in the trade since you put him in) + a 2nd and 3rd which turns both into a 1st protected if he does resign. Seems like that would get Florida take it and EDM is happy

Easy no from the Cats, they would want a top end defensive prospect to start for Hoffman. They have no reason to trade him unless they get what they want in return.

I don't disagree that they don't have to trade him, I can understand why you would say that they would want a defensive prospect.....but it's 1-year of Hoffman for a first round pick, that in itself is a fairly solid trade (especially based on where Edmonton is predicted to finish).

The Oilers are loaded on defensive players/prospects (particularly on the left side) so that could be an option....but to say it's an "EASY NO" from the Cats is just wrong.

Finally, the Panthers aren't getting a "high end" prospect (think Bouchard or Broberg) from ANY team for 1-year of Mike Hoffman & a 2020 1st Round Pick.

Never said anything about a 1st rounder. It would all depend on the prospect. JP has little to no value as he hasn’t shown anything. Sam is a bottom 6 player the Cats don’t need so little to no value. The first is the most intriguing thing on this trade and it’s conditional. All that being said makes it an easy no for Florida. If you want the Cats to take a highly potential bust and bottom 6 player the first is guaranteed not conditional, but again I say they rather you keep all that and give them a top end defensive prospect instead.
