Danault plus a 3rd is worth more then 2 cap casulties and a 1st and appleton.
I'd be willing to trade Danault for something more appeling
What about Danault + suzuki for Ehlers as a base?
Or Danault + 2nd for Vesalainen + a 1st and one of your cap dumps (kulikov/perreault) ?

Mathieu Perreault is still a good
Hockey player and appleton + 1st is a very good return for danault

Perreault is an overpaid 3rd liner - kulikov is a cap dump and Appleton and a late 1st is not enough for Danault.

I would go for E. Staal personally.

Not a bad choice, he’s turning 35 will see what left in the tank this year might be is last shot at another cup. But I’m not sure he would fit well between laine and ehlers both are really good skater and staal as lost a step there

I think it would cost about Stanley and Perreault/Kulikov maybe another pick as well

No staal hasn’t that much value he would bring back a b propect and a second round pick at 35 years old! Pick kulikov back and turn the second into a first
