I don't think you could get Johnson and Killorn from Tampa. They need cap relief, but they don't want to completely deplete their great forward depth.

Just spitballing this TBL trade; TOR gave up a 1st for 1 year of 6 million; TBL will be getting 4.5 years of nearly 9.5 million of relief

The Marleau situation was a bit different cause he literally sold his house and said he wasn't going to play for them for the upcoming season as he and his family wanted to move back to SJ. Since the cap hit would still be there if he retired, Toronto had to pay a steep price for relief (its even higher when you consider a replacement players salary now being added). I agree that Killorn and Johnson have slipped down the organizational depth chart in Tampa but they should still fetch assets and not cost to move.

Also re: Marleau, part of the reason the cost was so high was due to the buyout window being before July 1st. Carolina had to deal with Marleau's signing bonus which made the buyout cost far more in cash, which doesn't really matter in Toronto but does in Carolina

I agree they are more serviceable than Marleau, but it seems to me TBL have just as good players, who are younger and cheaper; also that's a lot of cap relief

Since Johnson and Killorn have NTCs, it's kinda of a dream they would play for the Canucks. And look at that cap with 21 man roster , and potential big bonus carryover, doesn't really work for the Canucks.

Flyers would match that for Konecny especially since its for 5 years.
