Pat kane came out of his ELC with 230 points. His next contract was 6.3m for 5 years which was 11.06% of the cap. Marner came out with 224 points in 3 less games. Not a huge difference. If he signed a 5 year deal for the same cap% it would be 9.01m. Leafs obviously don’t want 5 years so 3 would work. Marner seems fine with a 3 year deal considering he just offered one to Toronto. it would have to be a little less money but probably not by much to make it fair because of a shorter term so wouldn’t a 3 year deal around 8.5-8.75 be fair.

i know its bad but this is getting ridiculous, and there has been terrible news mirtle broke that the Marner camps wants 3 years at 10 million while the leafs offered 3 year at 8.75, 6 years at 10 million, and 7 years at 10.75 million which were all turned down. I have a hard time believing Marner wears blue next year.
