Gee, player wise I think the Oilers win big on this trade. It's bad cap management for the Rangers. At the cap limit, then next year with some bonus carryover plus the 6m Shattenkirk buyout.
Rangers need to shed cap this year....so they don't have any bonus carryover, and ideally have less "active" cap for the 6m Shattenkirk next year.

Ehhh idk about that, i think kreider is a tad overrated by people, i think him and RNH are even. and i can see rangers giving up more because teams understand that the rangers need some cap relief and will squeeze the rangers to make it happen.

Kreider is better then RNH!! Not even close, Nuge has surpassed Kreiders best season 3 times and is clearly the best player in this trade by a mile. Oilers are getting hosed!

Nuge > Kreider all day. Remove the contract extensions or whatever. C is more valuable than wing and Nuge can play both. Trading Nuge means we can't play Draisaitl-McDavid ever which is a guaranteed 2 goals every game. No thanks plus Nuge is in the middle of his prime, Kreider is close to exiting his and his player type doesn't age well in the league.

Kreider 's two way game way better. Sorry many hockey experts would disagree with you. Rangers giving up a 1st line wing, a2nd pair D, A guy drafted #7 two years ago and a 1st.for a guy who has finalized a season playing with two of the best in hockey and a busted #1? Rangers never make this deal.
