Description
Detroit trade: I think this deal is closer than It seems on the surface. The Wings arguably have one of the worst defensive corps in the NHL. I do think they have some promising young talent on the right side (Hronek and Seider) but the rest is lacking. Their top-6 is likely: DeKeyser-Green, Nemeth-Hronek, Daley-Bowey. Nick Leddy would easily pencil in to the LD1 spot and is under contract for another 3 seasons. DET also gets a lottery ticket in JHS who I think would be really fun on a line with a shooter in Mantha.

Calgary trade: Frolik has seemed to be on the block for a while. CGY still needs space to sign Tkachuk and Mangiapane.

The value is maybe close, but Detroit wont win this season (meaning the atlantic is stacked). They have no reason to acquire Leddy. Chowloski his pretty good (LHD). IMO Detroit should (and will) continu their rebuild. That means keep young player and picks and trading away older player. Not acquiring them.

Fair enough. I wonder if AA's relationship with the team has improved since his holdout. Not sure how Stevie Y views him either. That was something I left out of my trade description because it's just speculation and a wildcard

Detroit is building, if they were to move him which is a big if they would want prospects I think. Leddy does not fit their age group, and Ho Sang isn’t the prospect they want. I think the ask would be Wilde and Bellows which would be too much for me.

In that case maybe trading for a similar player (in term of age and potential). Your right he probably wont play his hole career in Detroit !
