Description

Unfortuantley we have to sell low as we are no tin a position of strength. Trading players prior to signing Trouba and Panarin would have been more ideal but this is where we are at.

Kreider, a good player a solid leader is not in the future plans as he is 30. That also means his value is lower than it could be due to his 1 year left.

Nams deal is awful and we need to retain just to move him for nothing. I think we need to bite the bullet and trust in the kids and fully commit to this rebuild. Staal, Kirk and Smith buyouts are too costly and as a result shouldnt be done this year. Next year would be better for all 3 or only 2. Kirk has the most value as a puck moving dman who can help mentor Fox and Deangelo.

Even at that price Kreider is still a bad fit for Colorado. Maybe they do it but Namestnikov is actually the better fit unless the Avs move Burakovsky to the right. Put the two Russians together, Namestnikov is younger and fits the profile of the Avs better, and if he regains the form he had at Tampa he's a steal at that price. If he's only a rental and it doesn't work out then no great loss.
