I just did a practice run. If you persuade Yzerman to trade Daley (one year) for Shattenkirk straight up, you can pay Buchnevich $3.5MM, De Angelo $2.5MM and Lemieux $1MM and keep everybody else.

I think you still have to trade Strome / Vladdy to give room to the youngsters. Also, keeping Strome/Vladdy and paying Lemiuex more would mean NYR right at the cap. Kakko, Kravstov, etc. have a heavy bonus structure and any overage this year moves to next, so it would behoove the NYR to have more space.
