To me that’s an overpayment for mitch

Too much money for not enough term for Marner. If he wants that kind of dough for that kind of term he can go find it somewhere else. I'd rather have the trade compensation and the cap space. Also, there is no cap left and the roster is too small.

Marner is 4th overall pick who's collected the most points for the team in back to back seasons and leads ALL your forward in ice time per game. If they want to pay him less than Matthews they should be offering him a bridge deal, not trying to force him into signing an 8 year contract.
