Going to take more than a 5th to move Backes. More like a 1st.

Moore is worth a 4th. But not to Ducks.

Miller is worth a 3rd when healthy, Ducks would be a good fit.

Imagine only having to swap a 5-7th pick to dump old healthy scratch Backes lol. Marleau costed a 1st and hasn't missed a game in a billion years

Backes at $3M would be a good 4C replacement for Boyle, these trades aren't exact but it'd be something along those lines. Same deal with Moore and Miller, the Ducks need defense but it could be any team really as long as Moore and Miller are out of Boston.

It could take more, but Backes at $3M would be a good substitution for Boyle considering Boyle's no longer with the Devils.

No, he isn’t. And it’s a 6m cap hit with 1m in salary. Not sure where you are getting 3m from.

The reasons we don’t want him are the same reasons nobody else does. You are not getting rid of him without taking salary back without seriously bribing someone.

You know who is a good fit for Boyle? Boyle, he’s still a FA, they can sign him...cheaper.

Oh jeez I thought I put in the Bruins as having retained half of Backes hit, guess it didn't register.

      They still don’t for that.

Well if Backes gets traded we'll see what the return or "bribing" cost is.

I don't think he is useless but these days GMs seem to be making others pay higher prices to dump deals.

Leafs and Marleau ring a bell? Different situations entirely. But if you want to move Backes without taking salary back it will cost a 1st or 2nd and ok prospect. Salary retention cuts it back but a 5th is not cutting it. Nobody is going to trade for him to acquire him, they are trading for him for what they can get for taking him. ??‍♂️
